Hi-Diddly-Ho, Neighborino!

If you’re coming from my Blogger bio, welcome back!

If this is the first post you’ve seen, thanks so much visiting my blog! Nosiness is immensely celebrated around these parts!

First, for those of you who forgot and those who didn’t know, I used to have another “blog” but I was not about to pay $25 a month and who’s going to sit down and commit to typing out “https://chronicled-insecurities-xsdffe_983*_tdsd3dxsl.wix.com”?? Not one soul! The address was longer than that but you get the drift.

You’re probably wondering what changed. Well, I got a big girl job, found a great deal on websites, and can now afford a domain name, along with other adult things like fueling hobbies and paying bills :)(bleck).

I may be considered a hoarder with my collection of crafts but I prefer the term “a neo-renaissance connoisseur of all things stationary mercantile”: pens, paper, pencils, markers (copic always!), and journals you name it, I just might have it.

Lady Cornball

Second, if you want to know more about me, here is a short-not-so-short resume of my life:

  1. I go by MacKenzie, Kenzie, Kenny, Ken-zaaaaaaaay, loo-luh bell, mook-lee, really anything my family makes up.
  2. I am a part of the Gen Z tribe but still have millennial tendencies, a Zillennial if you may.
  3. I want a dog sooo bad but I’m black and living with my parents so culturally that’s a no go! But my favorite breeds are English Cocker Spaniels, Cavapoos, Labradoodles, Golden Retrievers and Miniature Schnauzer’s, in either a chocolate or brown color!
  4. My favorite color is…well nearly every single one. But I would say earth tones, pastels, and neons are my range of favorites, although my collection of 10 pairs of black leggings would say otherwise.
  5. I’m from Alabama, born and bred (the 256 area), and have a background in accounting (the big girl job).
  6. I love a good rom-com, and a few TV shows with its setting based in either New York, ATL, Seattle, Chicago, LA, South Korea, or Medieval Europe. I also love Anime and music, my favorite genres being Neo-soul, R&B, Rock, Alternative, Gospel, some Hip-Hop (90’s-2010s, some 20s) CCM, Afrobeat, Jazz, Classical, K-Pop, and a few others (yea ya girl international and got some taste).
  7. I cannot for the life of me walk in heels unless it’s a chunky one! Flat feet and shoes with arches is a horrible combination but other than that, my sneakers, converses, Jordan 1’s, and flats always come in clutch for the win.
  8. I love to scrapbook journal, sketch and write! I blame my slight obsession with anything paper due to being homeschooled all of my life, and if we’re being for real why would a 20 something y/o in modern society have a whiteout bottle lying around? That being said, I may be considered a hoarder with my collection of crafts but I prefer the term “a neo-renaissance connoisseur of all things stationary mercantile”: pens, paper, pencils, markers (copic always!), and journals you name it, I just might have it.
  9. I love to wear makeup and create fun, vibrant, complimenting eyeshadow looks too! If you pan upwards to the first picture at the top you’ll see one of my favorite eyeshadow looks featuring my eyelash strip lifting in the inner corner of my eye. If that doesn’t show you how I don’t take life too seriously, idk what will? Not only that, I humbly believe I looked too cute to never show the pic! So just focus on the lard-glossed ombre lips, beat face and cemented-down waved edges to distract yourself ;).
  10. My top favorite places I dream of traveling to are Copenhagen, Denmark, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Hawaii, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Italy (the non-racist parts), Bora Bora, Maldives, Australia, Germany, Norway, Belize and many more!
  11. Finally, I love Jesus and for my holy rollers please don’t take Him being last on this list as a petty priority, after all the first shall be last and the last shall be first. WordPress ain’t as simple as Wix and I am not about to type all this stuff out again to rearrange it or throw off this formatting, He knows my heart Hall-lay-ju-yah somebody!
One of my favorite spreads, I incorporate scrap paper, and sketch out images from Pinterest for my journal entry inspiration.

The Adult Trap

This is another favorite spread of mine, which was inspired by the Disney film The Parent Trap! I incorporated cherry blossoms in this section because 1. cherry blossoms are some of my favorite flowers and 2. they represent renewal and transience of life. I found it fitting to sketch these in my entry since this was when I landed my dream job!

I think the blend of all these elements displays an unwavering adolescent comedic perception of “I’m grown now”, married to the excitement of pivotal, life changing experiences.
